Lady Blues Soccer Alumni Scrimmage- The Lady Blues will scrimmage against GHS alumni at Newton Field this evening at 5:30 pm. GO LADY BLUES!
Graham Steer Soccer- The Steers will be at Newton Field this evening at 6:30 pm for scrimmage vs GHS alumni. GO STEERS!
Graham Steer Basketball- The Steers will be at Iowa Park for a 7:30 pm contest this evening. GO STEERS!

Woodland Elementary Giving to Others- The A-Team (Mrs. Boenisch and Mr. Andrews) would like to say thank you for all of the Angel Tree gifts that have been given by their students in lieu of teacher gifts this Christmas! What a wonderful outpouring of generosity. They will be smiling all season.
GJHS Students Give Back Through Hot Chocolicious- Mrs. Karibe and Miss Frazier could not be more proud of the kids and their dedication to making this Hot Chocolicious one for the books! Thank you to those who could make the finale at NCTC today - if you did not make it, here are the results of all the hard work!
Total raised for non-profits: $4850.23 (after paying back the $1500 in loans to the bank) For those who did not know - each team is given a loan of $300 that they pay back learn the process of getting a loan from a bank works. They build their business from the ground up and use the loan to get their materials.
Cocoa Pups: Humane Society; raised $1626.00 giving the Humane Society of Young County a donation of $1326.00! Graham Savings awarded this team with Best Product and Packaging!
Sugar Plum Cocoa: Graham Regional Theatre; raised $684.00 giving the theatre a donation of $384.00! All the banks awarded this team with Best Business Plan and Accounting!
Cocoa Cheer: Graham Sports Authority; raised $1737.86 giving Graham Sports Authority a donation of $1437.86! Interbank awarded this team with Best Branding and Marketing!
Cocoa Angels: Elder Angel Tree; raised $391.37 giving the Angel Tree a donation of $91.37! Ciera Bank awarded this team with the Best Cooperation and Spirit!

GISD Board Calls Bond Election for May 2024- As you know, the Graham ISD board has set a bond election for May 2024 aimed at improving our school facilities. Below is a one-page document that provides an overview of the two propositions to be considered in May 2024. A "Vote For" committee is being formed and led by GISD parents Erika Schmidt and Travis Thompson. #1 Question to Date Regarding the May 2024 Bond- What is the Student Multipurpose Facility and what will it be used for?
Answer- The Student Multipurpose Facility will be a fully enclosed indoor space approximately 200’ x 210’ in size. The space will be used by all of our extracurricular and co-curricular programs including band, dance, cheer, soccer, softball, baseball, football, off-season, summer strength & conditioning, 7 on 7, etc. The space will also be available for our campuses to use for field days, etc. Depending on the scheduled needs for school activities, the facility will be made available for community youth activities, etc.
The interior of the space will include approximately 70 yards of a turfed surface and the field surface will be marked appropriately for band, football, soccer, softball, and baseball. Additionally, the facility will employ a netting system that can be lowered and raised to provide partitioned spaces allowing for multiple teams to use the space simultaneously.

The Optimist…
There is a story of identical twins. One was a hope-filled optimist. “Everything's coming up roses!” The other was a sad and hopeless pessimist. He thought that Murphy, as in Murphy’s Law, was an optimist.
The worried parents of the boys brought them to the local psychologist. He suggested to the parents a plan to balance the twins’ personalities.
“On their next Christmas, put them in separate rooms to open their gifts. Give the pessimist the best toys you can afford, and give the optimist a box of manure”.
The parents followed these instructions and carefully observed the results.
When they peeked in on the pessimist, they heard him audibly complaining, “I don’t like the color of this computer…I’ll bet this calculator will break…I don’t like this game…I know someone who’s got a bigger toy car than this…”
Tiptoeing across the corridor, the parents peeked in and saw their little optimist gleefully throwing the manure up in the air. He was giggling. “You can’t fool me! Where there’s this much manure, there’s gotta be a pony nearby!”
Helen Keller said, “Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.”
