GOOD MORNING AND HAPPY FRIDAY!
Graham ISD Board of Trustees Approves Recruiting and Retention Plan- In January 2022, the GISD Board of Trustees requested that the superintendent create a plan to address the changing needs of the district in regard to recruiting and retaining high-quality staff. Specifically, as it pertains to the teaching staff.
The superintendent created a committee consisting of one teacher with 1-3 years of experience, one teacher with 5-10 years of experience, one teacher with 15+ years of experience, one elementary principal, one secondary principal, two school board members, the Mayor of Graham, the Economic Development Director of Graham, the assistant superintendent for Human Resources, and the assistant superintendent for Finance.

Clean Your Windows…
When I was a young child my mom and granny would hang our laundry on lines in the backyard. Although not so common today, this message focuses on cleaning up our own issues and judging others less!
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the laundry outside. “That laundry is not very clean,” she said, “She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.” Her husband looked on but remained silent. Every time her neighbor would hang her washing to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.
About a month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean laundry on the clothesline and said to her husband, “Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.
The husband said, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."
Lesson: If our windows are dirty we will see others as dirty also. What we see in others is indeed a reflection of our inner selves! So it is with life that what we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look. It is easy for us to discuss other people, their lives, and things that really don’t even concern us. We tend to forget… our own window may not be all that clean!
Have a nice day… take care of yourself and others!
