GOOD MORNING & HAPPY FRIDAY!

Facility Planning-

  • In June of 2021, the district began the planning process for future improvements to district instructional facilities by conducting a facility study focused on our elementary campuses with an emphasis on addressing the needs of Woodland Elementary.
  • In June 2022, the architects presented the report data, potential options, and a timeline should the board want to move forward with planning to address our elementary school facilities.
  • In February 2022 and September 2022, Jeff Robert of Hilltop Securities provided the board with conservative projections regarding bonding capacity including the valuations and depreciation of the Chapter 313 Wind Farm Project.
  • In September 2022, the district formed a Community Advisory Board comprised of 28 members. The Community Advisory Board met 8 times between October 2022 - January 2023.
  • On January 18, 2023, Mr. Brandon Joy addressed the board on behalf of the Community Advisory Board. His comments can be read from this link- Community Advisory Board Recommended Bond Referendum Scope of Work.
  • During the January 18, 2023 school board meeting, the board discussed the Community Advisory Board’s recommendations as well as varied alternatives to these recommendations. The board also reviewed and discussed the estimated costs and the associated I&S tax implications to support the construction of these proposed projects.
  • The Board decided to hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, to discuss further and possibly make decisions regarding the options for improving school facilities.
