GISD Board Calls Bond Election for May 2024- As you know, the Graham ISD board has set a bond election for May 2024 aimed at improving our school facilities. Below is a one-page document that provides an overview of the two propositions to be considered in May 2024. A "Vote For" committee is being formed and led by GISD parents Erika Schmidt and Travis Thompson. If you would like to serve on this committee, please use your personal email address to contact Erika Schmidt at em.schmidt88@gmail.com.

#1 Question to Date Regarding the May 2024 Bond- What is the Student Multipurpose Facility and what will it be used for?

Answer- The Student Multipurpose Facility will be a fully enclosed indoor space approximately 200’ x 210’ in size. The space will be used by all of our extracurricular and co-curricular programs including band, dance, cheer, soccer, softball, baseball, football, off season, summer strength & conditioning, 7 on 7, etc. The space will also be available for our campuses to use for field days, etc. Depending on the scheduled needs for school activities, the facility will be made available for community youth activities, etc.

The interior of the space will include approximately 70 yards of a turfed surface and the field surface will be marked appropriately for band, football, soccer, softball, and baseball. Additionally, the facility will employ a netting system that can be lowered and raised to provide partitioned spaces allowing for multiple teams to use the space simultaneously.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this.
