My Influence

During some early morning reading this week, I came across the anonymous poem below.  I think the eight lines offers an excellent opportunity for self-reflection. I know it is the end of the year and it may seem odd to reflect on one’s influence, but most of the time people always remember what happens last.

My life shall touch a dozen lives
Before this day is done.
Leave countless marks of good or ill,
E’er sets the evening sun.

This, the wish I always wish,
The prayer I always pray:
Lord, may my life help other lives
It touches by the way.

CORNY JOKE OF THE DAY:

Why do scuba divers fall backward out of the boat?

Cause if they fell forward, they’d still be in the boat!
