Flashlight- Steer Nation Message 9-24-21

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

COMMENDED STUDENT IN THE NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM-Congratulations to Graham High School’s Dawson H. Grubbs! Dawson has been named a Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.  Dawson was recognized on September 23 in front of the Graham High School Band, of which he is a Drum Major.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although Dawson will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC.  "These students represent a valuable national resource: recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation"

Flashlight…

When a flashlight has grown dim or quits working, do you just throw it away? Of course not! You change the batteries. When a person messes up or finds themselves in a dark place, do you cast them aside? Of course not! You help them change their batteries. Some need AA… attention and affection; some need AAA… attention, affection, and acceptance; some need C… compassion; some need D… direction. And if they still don’t seem to shine… simply sit with them and share your light!

CORNY JOKE OF THE DAY!

Why did the tennis shoe walk away quietly? (Scroll down for the answer.)

It was a sneaker!
